When one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we take so long at the closed
door that we do not see the one that has been opened for us -Helen Keller

In Letting Go

To “let go” does not mean to stop caring.
It means I can’t do it for someone else.
To “let go” is not to cut myself off.
It’s the realization that I can’t control another.
To “let go” is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To “let go” is not to try to change or blame another.
It’s to make the most of myself.
To “let go” is not to care for, but to care about.
To “let go” is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To “let go” is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.
To ”let go” is not to be in the middle, arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their own destinies.
To “let go” is not to deny, but to accept.
To “let go” is not to nag, scold, or argue,
but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To ”let go” is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.
To “let go” is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.
To “let go” is to fear less and to love more. ~Author unknown

I am Grateful

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! – 2 Corinthians 9:15

Upon awakening each day, I will be grateful for another day of life. Each day brings with it an opportunity to experience the beauty that surrounds me which sometimes I may take for granted. I acknowledge the love I have in my heart that longs to be shared with others, while being open and receptive to accepting love in return. Even though I am grateful that God has a purpose for my life and I want to honor and serve Him by accepting His “Will,” there are times in which I don’t understand it. When things don’t seem fair, it is difficult to be grateful; it fact being grateful may be the farthest thing from my mind. I have even doubted that God loves me when I have been in my darkest moments. But through prayer and meditation He always brings me back to a place of peace and gratefulness that through all things, He never leaves my side.

I am grateful for the tears I am able to shed, the laughter I am able to feel, the good times and the bad times that leave behind lessons learned and greater blessings that always seem to follow.

I will take time out to write down things that I am grateful for. I will concentrate on all the things I have, instead of the things I don’t have. By doing this I will see that God has always provided everything I ever needed. I have no doubt that He will keep His promise of always providing what I need or the means to get it.

I am most grateful for the gift of unconditional love that God has for me. It is because of His constant love that nothing else matters and yet everything that matters is taken care of .I pray that I will never lose sight of all things that God has blessed me with and a renewed sense of clarity, so that I will not forget and therefore never take for granted. It is when I forget the goods things that I have in life in which I lack the gratitude that should always be in my heart. My attitude should always be, “Thank you, God, for everything.”
